We decided that since it takes a community to collect 299 pairs of shoes, we should let the community join us for the photo! Here’s a picture of staff and our Fun Run peeps contributing more pairs of shoes to MORE!

One of my favorite quotes is by Margaret Mead “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it’s the only thing that ever has”.

At Fleet Feet-West Hartford, we’re more than just a shoe store, we’re a community center where people can find the perfect shoe, support and inspiration to achieve their fitness goals as well as become a bigger part of their community. Sometimes that means paying it forward to runners while other times it means doing their small part to make our world a better place.

One of our big initiatives is collecting unwanted shoes. The new/like-new ones are used for our Footwear with Care program that provides podiatric care and shoes to the homeless (last month we fit 266 homeless men, women and children for shoes) and the used shoes are donated to the MORE Foundation Group.

We are proud to keep the Circle of Life for shoes spinning!
